Designed by world class custom knife maker Jon Sorenson, the Evo 3.0 emanates a captivating aura. Jon’s Rotten Design insignia is tastefully emblazoned on the lock side adjacent to the large external stop pins. Beneath the exterior attractiveness, a steel lock bar insert interfaces with the blade tang and also functions as an integrated lock bar stabiliser. Dmitry Sinkevich’s Multi Row Bearing System (MRBS) has been used to achieve a brilliantly smooth and fast deployment and closing action. A welcome addition, Custom Knife Factory includes a replacements parts kit which, short of the pocket clip and backspacer, includes everything you’d need to assemble the knife. Forget T6 bits, the Evo 3.0 uses T10 body screws and a beefy T20 pivot screw to improve longevity and rigidity. A bark textured finish has been applied to the 3D contoured titanium handle, which not only adds visual depth, but also provides a unique tactile experience. Where many pocket clips are an afterthought, the Evo’s 3D machined Ti clip is seamlessly integrated in both design and function. The M390 blade is ground with a tall belt satin hollow which looks drop dead gorgeous. It’s seriously hard to stop watching the grind lines play with the light.
