Designed by world class custom knife maker Jon Sorenson, the Evo 3.0 emanates a captivating aura. Jon’s Rotten Design insignia is tastefully emblazoned on the lock side adjacent to the large external stop pins. Beneath the exterior attractiveness, a steel lock bar insert interfaces with the blade tang and also functions as an integrated lock bar stabiliser. Dmitry Sinkevich’s Multi Row Bearing System (MRBS) has been used to achieve a brilliantly smooth and fast deployment and closing action. A welcome addition, Custom Knife Factory includes a replacements parts kit which, short of the pocket clip and backspacer, includes everything you’d need to assemble the knife. Forget T6 bits, the Evo 3.0 uses T10 body screws and a beefy T20 pivot screw to improve longevity and rigidity. A bark textured finish has been applied to the 3D contoured titanium handle, which not only adds visual depth, but also provides a unique tactile experience. Where many pocket clips are an afterthought, the Evo’s 3D machined Ti clip is seamlessly integrated in both design and function. The M390 blade is ground with a tall belt satin hollow which looks drop dead gorgeous. This particular Evo has received a full DLC treatment unlike any other, which paired with the barked handle and belt satin blade, is truly spectacular. It’s seriously hard to stop watching the whole knife play with the light.
